Fleet tracking solutions company Imarda Inc. has announced a US$10 million deal with a major, publically listed, US freight services company to provide an advanced Telematics based solution.
Imarda CEO, Selwyn Pellett, says the US$10 million contract represents one of the largest single deals for Telematics this year, with the majority of the deployment to be completed over the next 12 months.
"The contract is the result of almost two years of work," says Pellett. "In that time Imarda undertook an extensive development program including; proof of concept work, an initial pilot deployment and a full supplier audit of Imarda's design and manufacturing facilities."
The contract will see Imarda supply more than 12,000 WiFi, Blue Tooth and PLC enabled Prolificx V300 Telematics devices and in excess of 40,000 electronic Trailer Identification Tags. Deployment will be rolled out across the US over a 10 month period. Imarda's Trailer Identification Tag, developed specifically for this solution, is now the world's smallest ID tags using existing Power Line Controller (PLC) protocols.
Imarda's solution, used in conjunction with other technologies, will enable the company to capture and provide real-time vehicle information. It will also significantly improve asset utilization, compliance and driver safety, while dramatically reducing data transmission costs.
"Imarda's success is based on providing its customers with Telematics options that enable the rapid development of customised solutions to meet specific market needs," says Pellett. "It is not a ‘one-size-fits all industry. You need to show customers you are highly flexible and able to work with them to maximise their competitive advantage."
Pellett believes this deal has firmly established Imarda as the innovator in this space. It intends to continue to develop its SmartTrack fleet management software and Prolificx products to meet the needs of industry visionaries across global transportation and logistics markets.
