Imarda today has reached another milestone in its quest to be device agnostic by deploying its i360 Mobile Resource Management (MRM) application connected to Intermec CN50 rugged handheld devices.

Working in conjunction with an Australian Intermec agent, Imarda installed its device independent framework software (called IDF) onto the Windows Mobile based Intermec CN50 rugged phones enabling them to communicate and report into Imarda's i360 solution.

"In this case the customer operates a large contractor fleet and they needed to be able to track movement and geofence activity, monitor productivity, and manage contractor billing," says Imarda CEO Selwyn Pellett.

Imarda CTO Matt Comb notes: "Installing fixed devices in contractors' vehicles was simply not practical. This deployment reinforces our belief that the next generation of MRM systems need to work with multiple devices and data sources. We were able to rapidly provide this support to our customer by using our IDF software which enables Imarda and our partners to develop software modules that are simply plugged in to the IDF to provide new software features or hardware support."

Imarda's i360 provieds a fully web based Mobile Resource Management application that as well as providing all the features expected in current Fleet Management Services (FMS) offerings also boasts a number of extensible features, from a fully configurable user interfaces to i360's Business Wisdom Engine which is backed by Imarda Expression Language (IXL) . This framework enables a customer to define and implement business logic that matches their current or desired operation.
